lying in the darkness, spread-eagled to my bed
shadows haunt my vision, noises echo through my head
at the edge of consciousness voices call my name
sending terror down my spine, my blood chills in my veins

I hear eerie whispers casting wicked spells
I am a helpless prisoner in my very private hell
my mind is playing evil tricks, reality is blurred
I’m begging for redemption but my prayers won’t be heard

the wreckage of my body shakes and trembles, struck with fear
shapeless shadows shamble, evil whispers at my ear
choking me with blackness, sucking out my breath
horrified I stare into the grinning face of death

entangled in a spider-web of agonizing pain
I try to fight to keep my mind from finally going insane
a temporary victory to survive another night
I know, someday I’ll lose control, someday I’ll lose the fight
haunted by disturbing dreams, primeval freezing fright
I hope for deliverance at the end of night
the darkness is an enemy I know I can’t defeat
another night is falling down and I don’t dare to sleep
